News: Visiting Production

Hats off to ATG for bringing the classily-done and unexpectedly revelatory double-bill of Love’s Labour’s Lost and Much Ado About Nothing to the Opera House.

The two nominated shows seen at HOME, The Encounter from Complicite and 946 – The Amazing Story of Adolphus Tips from Kneehigh, had little more in common than their multi-faceted brilliance but like A Girl is a Half-Formed Thing at The Lowry splendidly demonstrated the remarkable quality of shows and companies being tempted to the area by our open and adventurous spirit. The James Plays at The Lowry arrived trailing clouds of glorious reviews but it was its breathtaking scale and brilliance that wowed the panel, who eventually judged it their overall favourite in yet another hotly-contested category.
